Advantage Business Advisors is an executive advisory firm specializing in business value strategies and solutions. The breadth of our services includes business appraisal, business value consulting, exit strategy planning and preparation, and mergers & acquisitions.

Mr. Jeffrey R. Scott, our founder and president, got started in this business in 1979 as an entrepreneur brokering the sale of his own business. This soon evolved into a thriving business brokerage firm focused on the greater Fredericksburg business community. In 2005 Jeff invited his friend and business colleague Rick Freed, Harvard MBA with corporate consulting and financial experience, into the firm to assist in the transformation of Advantage Business Brokerage into Advantage Business Advisors.

We are proud of our Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) history and success, and it is still a core competency in our business, but our primary focus now is to engage early the thoughtful business owner who wants to build and capture value with an eventual sale just one of the possible exit strategy options.

We are located in historic Old Town Fredericksburg, Virginia in the center of the active business corridor between Washington DC and Richmond. We have been serving this market since 1979. Regionally focused, we also serve all of Virginia, Maryland and both of the Carolinas.

We are relational and selective. Most of our business comes via referrals from satisfied clients and our extensive sphere of influence among business, financial and legal professionals. We uniquely bring many of the capabilities and resources of a small Wall Street investment bank to businesses that do not usually enjoy that level of professional service.
